Singeetham-Ilayaraja's Thyagayya

Thyagayya is the film to come up soon in the terrific combination of Singeetham Srinivasa Rao and Maestro Ilayaraja with RV Ramana Murthy producing it on Lalitha Sri Combines banner. Murthy said that the film would be made both in Telugu and Tamil. The saint poet Thayaraja brought world fame to the Indian classical music with the touch of the Carnatic. "We are going to unfold on the screen – the musical renaissance in Tanjore in the 18th and 19th centuries. Historical episodes with direct bearing on the music and devotional lyrics which were in circulation those times; and Ilayaraja's composition of tunes are going to be the major highlights," he said. JK Bharavi will pen the dialogues. Ashok Kumar is the cinematographer. Songs recording and film launch will be in September. The movie is planned to release on January 6th, 2009.
