Sivaji Review

Synopsis

Even before the release of the movie, its subject is known to all. True to the pre-release leak, Software engineer and NRI Sivaji (Rajnikanth) comes from the US with about Rs. 200 crores – for setting up a No-donation university and a free hospital for the poor. Sanction of government permits to Sivaji's target is made difficult by his opponents. Soon, Sivaji finds that bribe is the most common malady in government offices. Later, he comes out with a personal detection. India with its Rs 20,00,000 crores of black money is not a poor country. His action plan is clear: To get the details of hoarding black money by the government officials and Ministers and then blackmailing them to have his share, which he would utilize only for the good. Adiseshu (Suman), an influential but commercialized educationist always tries his level best to kill Sivaji. The war between the two heats up and the result is the murder of Sivaji. But a friend of Sivaji (Rajnikanth) comes from the US and takes over Sivaji's charity foundation, besides forcing fatal vengeance on Adiseshu. He also continues his battle against black money. Is he the Sivaji himself in disguise? Naturally, yes.

Artistes Performance

Rajnikanth has given wonderful performance with different getups. Maximum is extracted from the superstar in the dance division. His mannerisms – taking chewing gum into his mouth (the piece so thrown would hit his palm and jumps into his mouth) – is a good watch. The same mannerism is repeated in different types. His getups, particularly as a white and NTR, are done carefully. The climax getup with tonsured head and stylish beard comes as a surprise. His dialogues and contribution of comedy are a major plus point. In short, Rajnikanth shoulders the entire weight of the film.

Shriya looks charming as usual. However, she didn't get any special chance to perform, except for song and dance. The long absence of Shriya from Tollywood due to providing of bulk dates to director Shankar has led to a surmise that she would have been given an important role, which is not here.

Suman played the main villain. Sporting white dhoti and khaddar shirt, he is shown as the representative of those who find education a lucrative business.

Vivek played the friend of Rajni. His comical performance is routine. There is not much scope for Vivek to do the comedy, as Rajni himself handled it.

Manivannan and Vadivukkarasi played the parents to Rajni. The episodes in which they seek alliance for their son are interesting.

Raghuvaran did the role of a heart specialist, who has no direct link with the main story.

Nayantara appears in an item song (first song). Her dance is a good watch with lot of hip shakes.

Technical Values

Story of the film is not only an NRI tryst with education sharks, but also an attack against the black money in India. The story seems to treading the path of a Tagore, when the hero gets to investigation on the bank account and audit details. The subject (or say the message) is not dealt completely, but in bits and pieces. The movie has not reached the expectations of the audience when they look at the overall output of Rajni-Shankar combination. That too for the first time!

Screenplay is good. Comedy scene followed by a serious scene seemed the set formulae. The first half runs smoothly and the second half runs on a slow note, but for Rajni's part.

There is mixed response to the songs and music by AR Rehman. All the songs are dream songs, each showing Rajni in a new getup. The first song with more than 2000 junior artistes in the backdrop is shot richly. Rajni's steps as NTR, Chiranjeevi and ANR are a good watch.

Comedy is all right. Except for Rajni and Vivek combine comedy, there is very little or nothing special in this department.

Dialogues are a highlight in the film. Rajni's mannerism – Cool – said repeatedly is trendy. A couple of one-liners – "Pandulu gumpugaa vasthayi, kaani Simham okkate vasthundi." (Pigs come in groups, but Lion strikes singly) and "Manam eppudu chasthamo theliste ika jeevitham narakam" (When we come to know when we will die, life becomes a hell) – are good.

Shankar's direction is known for grandeur in all segments. Picturisation of songs, costumes and locations are rich.

Stunts are done with overdose of graphics. The chase and dash sequence with cars is good, but turns monotonous and unconvincing. Similarly, the climax fight is visualized in a good manner. As the hero and villain fight, the currency notes are spilled all over (signifying the hero's victory over black money). This sequence too is shot at length, which has lost the punch.

Graphic work deserves a mention. Much of this element is limited to aerobics of Rajnikanth in the air when he fights out the baddies. There are two interesting visuals: Blacktopping of roads before Rajni as he walks; and the setting of educational institution as the students walk on the campus.

Generally, there will be lot of importance to sentiment in almost all Rajnikanth's movies. Here, Shankar seems to have completely ignored this commercial element. The horoscope sentiment and its curious turn are conceived in poor taste.

Cinematography is excellent. Production values of AVM are tremendous.

Final Verdict :

The movie is opened to terrific collections. The lone strength of the movie is superstar Rajnikanth. Hence, its success rate is open for a debate.

Sivaji Vs Dasavataram

Directed by Shankar and produced on the banner of AVM Productions with Rajanikanth and Shriya in the lead, 'Sivaji' is termed to be a prestigious film on that banner.

There was a big talk that the film was made with the highest-ever budget of Rs 70 crores and would create a record in the south Indian film industry.

However, it is reliably learnt that 'Dasavataram' of Kamal Hasan is also being made with similar budget of Rs 70 crores.

According to the producer of 'Dasavataram' Oscar Ravichandran, they had already spent Rs 55 crores on the film and it needs another Rs 15 crores to complete the movie.

It is well aware that Kamal Hassan was portraying 10 different roles in the flick and one among them is the US President.

Another speciality of the film is that the technical crew that worked for 'Titanic' is working for this movie.

Lakshyam audio by the end of this week

Nallamalupu Bujji is making Lakshyam for Lakshminarasimha Productions in the direction of Sri Vaas. Gopichand, Anushka, Kalyani are doing lead roles in the film. The unit of Lakshyam met the press today at Ramanaidu studios.

Hero Gopichand thanked Bujji for entrusting such a good story for him. 'Sri Vaas is a very good director. He knows exactly what he wants. I got totally involved in this project after hearing the first half of the script. Also, Suresh Babu being a part of the project gave me full confidence that it would be a perfect film. There is always a positive feeling right from the beginning of this film. And I am sure that this film has the best music among my films so far released', said Gopichand.

Raghu Babu who is playing a key role in the film commented that he noticed a spark in Sri Vaas during the time of Murari when Sri Vaas was working as assistant to Krishnavamsi. Heroine Anushka also expressed her confidence in the film. 'This is not a running around the trees role.. but has good scope for performance', said Anushka. BCCI shortlists John Emburey for coach

John Emburey has joined the race for India's new cricket coach. The Board of Control for Cricket in India invited the former England spinner for discussions in Chennai on June 9.

The BCCI had, on Monday night, said South Africa's Graham Ford and another foreigner would be invited to make presentations for the post left vacant by Greg Chappell after the World Cup.

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India has invited Mr Graham Ford and Mr John Emburey to come to Chennai and make a presentation to the Special Committee on 09th June after which a final decision on the next coach of Indian team will be made," a BCCI statement on Tuesday evening said.

Emburey, who was Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1984, holds the dubious distinction of being the highest England Test run-scorer (1713 runs) without a Test century. He claimed 147 Test wickets in 64 Tests, at an average of 38.4. After his playing career he coached Northamptonshire and Middlesex.

Sholey : Then And Now

The question that everyone is asking is - Will Amitabh Bachchan be able to give Gabbar a new lease of life in Ram Gopal Varma’s Sholay?

The chief of bandits in the new version is an underworld don and has lost his original crassness for a sauve though scar-faced sinister self.

Meanwhile, trying to fit into the Amitabh’s big shoes of the strong and silent Jai is newcomer Prashant Raj, another brooding baritoned tall order.

A charmer, a comic and a big flirt, that pretty much defined the original Veeru. And Ram Gopal Varma has roped in the very intense Ajay Devgan to reprise Veeru, an unlikely choice.

The new Veeru like the old one too loves his drink, still has a roving eye and is trying to get up, close and personal with Basanti who in the new version is Ghungroo, played by Nisha Kothari.

If Basanti has become Ghunghroo, then her trusted horse, Dhanno has become an autorickshaw named Laila. But the street smart, Rajnikanth-emulating Ghunghroo, clearly lacks the innocence of Basanti..

However, Ghunghroo has something that Basanti didn't have - Durga for a friend. Durga, is to Ram Gopal Varma what Radha was to Ramesh Sippy (director of the original Sholay). The mute-Radha always clad in white was played by Jaya Bachchan and Durga is played by Sushmita Sen.

And finally there's the Thakur. Inspector Baldev Singh now returns as Inspector Narsimha played by Mohanlal.

Ram Gopal Varma’s Sholay might be set in present day Mumbai but it's characters are a remix of the unforgettable characters from the 1975 classic. But then, it's the story, which matters the most, and as every Sholay fan knows - Is Story Mein Emotion Hai, Drama Hai, Tragedy Hai (This story has emotion, drama and even tragedy).

'AMAV' continues to top the Box Office

Venkatesh's winning streak continues this week with "Aduvari Matalaku Arthale Verule" topping the list again.

The top five Telugu films this week are:

1. "Aduvari Matalaku Arthale Verule" - Though this comedy looks like an unlikely creation for Sri Raghavan, it promises a busy season for the serious filmmaker.

2. "Aata" - The great chemistry between Siddharth and Illeana keeps the film going strong at the box office. Producer M.S. Raju and director V.N. Aditya break their jinx with a moderate hit.

3. "Munna" - After a good opening, the film may be sliding a bit at the box office. But Prabhas' looks, Ileana's oomph, lilting music and slick action stand "Munna" in good stead.

4. "Dhee" - Director Srinu Vytla's strength lies in lacing his stories with laughs. The formula clicks once again with the film bringing Vishnuvardhan back into the reckoning.

5. "Bhookailash" - Comedian Venu Madhav plays the main lead in this tale, which is about a farmer who becomes a millionaire overnight due to a real-estate boom.

'Dubai Seenu' to release on June 7

Directed by Sreenu Vaitla and produced by DVV Danaiah on the banner of Universal Media 'Dubai Seenu' with Raviteja and Nayanatara in the lead is all set for release soon.

It is well aware that 'Venky' which came in the combination of Sreenu Vaitla and Raviteja was a big hit. We are confident that this movie would repeat the history and would be a very big hit. Raviteja's role in this film is a mass character and is a total entertainer. Likewise, Nayanatara not only filled the glamour slot but had good scope to perform. Moreover, Sreenu Vaitla's recent film 'Dhee' was a big hit, and our recent release 'Desamuduru' was a blockbuster. Hence there were lots of expectations on the movie and we are sure that we will reach the expectations. We are confident that 'Dubai Seenu' would be another big hit on our banner.'

Reason for Shivaji Delay

This is about Shivaji, sources in Chennai claim that, the actual reason for the delay in the movie release is not the post-production work but the business problem, which has not been done. The reason behind this they cite is that a ruling party politician’s son was reportedly interested in buying the rights of the movie and offered a sum of 85 crores, which the producers declined and said they would be able to do business to the tune of 120 crores and explained in what way it was possible - as the first 2 weeks the ticket prices could be hiked to 180 Rs.

So the politician’s son, immediately got a rule passed by the government that the ticket price in Tamil Nadu shouldn’t exceed 40 Rs., this happened in January and regarding this issue, there was a problem in the release of Tamil Pokiri also.

Now at that prices, the distributors are hesitating to buy the movie and Rajnikant is away to Himalayas for meditation, and the producers are in a fix as their price is not coming up to their expectation and they don’t want to under sell the film, hence delaying the movie umpteen times.

The voice behind Shriya in Sivaji

Cinema is an unusual place for a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the BITS, Pilani, to be in but Kanika says she finds the place
very interesting. S
he started her acting career as the heroine in Susie Ganesan's Five Star, a film produced by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies. And now she lends her voice to Shriya in the Rajnikanth starrer Sivaji. Earlier, the actress has also dubbed for Sada in Anniyan.

She done a movie with Srikanth(Ottesti Cheptunna). Earlier reports came that shriya voice is dubbed by sandhya. But that rumor mills are shut down with this.

Devi and Charmi! is love in air?

Latest buzz is that Devi Sri Prasad fell flat to the charms of Charmme. Intimacy is said to have developed between the duo when the music director visited the sets of Pournami, an MS Raju movie, in which Charmme played the heroine. His last scored music for Rakhi, which is considered the swan song of the heroine in Telugu industry. Devi Sri is said to have used his spell to cast her in Shankar Dada Zindabad, but in vain. Megastar himself declined the recommendation as she had declined the item number in Stalin, pushing the chance to Anushka. All said and done, Devi Sri’s obsession goes unending. Though Charmme announced on her birthday (May 17th) that she had no marriage plans for the time being, idle talk is ripe about the probable wedlock of the duo.
Did Charmme say goodbye to her screen mentor Krishnavamsi?

'Desamuduru' to celebrate 125 days function soon

Directed by versatile director Puri Jagannath and produced by DVV Danaiah on the banner of Universal Media 'Desamuduru' with Allu Arjun and Hansika Motwani was released recently and was proved to be a blockbuster.

Performance of Allu Arjun, Chakri's music, Puri Jagannath's directorial abilities turned pillars for the success of the movie.

Producer DVV Danaiah had decided to celebrate 125 days function by the end of May.

'Veduka' to hit screen on May 31

The audio of 'Veduka' directed by Jitender Y and produced by Ponnamaneni Venkateswara Rao on the banner of Akshaya Films with Raja, Poonam Bajwa in the lead, which was released recently is getting a positive response.

The producer held a meet to reveal the release date.

He says, 'Anoop gave melodious tunes to all the songs. The success of the audio had hiked the expectations on the success of our movie and we believe that as a good omen. The way the characters of Raja and Poonam Bajwa were moulded was quite different and would be very attractive to the audiences. I wish the film would give a good break to Raja. I compliment our director Jitender for moulding 'Veduka' in an attractive way.'

Director Jitender says, 'The audiences had a habit of welcoming different movies. I believe that our film 'Veduka' would give a new experience to the audiences. The entire film is quite interesting and would do complete justice to the title.'

'Lakshyam' shoots action scenes

Action scenes are being choreographed for 'Lakshyam' produced by Nallamalupu Srinivas (Bujji) on the banner of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions introducing Srivasu as director with Gopichand and Anushka in the lead.

Presently the film is being shot at Victoria Memorial School in Dilsukhnagar of Hyderabad, where some action scenes are being canned under the direction of fight master Vijay involving Gopichand and some other fighters.

It may be mentioned here that the recent film of Gopichand, 'Okkadunnadu' was proved to be successful.

The success of the film had increased the expectations of the forthcoming film 'Lakshyam' of Gopichand among the audiences as well as in the industry circles.

Newcomer Mithoon impresses with 'The Train'

Mithoon gets his big break finally with 'The Train' and he's done quite an impressive job for a newcomer. The movie sees the sensual Shilpa Rao making a mark for herself. With every song being either average or good, the soundtrack should do great with the audience.

KK does it again. With the emotional and sentimental track 'Beete lamhein', he re-establishes his hold on great singing. Kshitij Tarey, who's a new name to reckon with, joins him.

The poetic lyrics by Sayeed Qadri teamed with Mithoon's music makes for some nice sentimental music. Slow in its pace, the number also has continuous light guitar strumming that makes it pleasurable to hear.

'Mausam' is one track that cannot be missed. Especially since the composer renders his own voice to the track. Who would have known he has such a great voice!

Again, with melodic lyrics, this track has an array of musical arrangements that add to the feel of the number. Sentiments are packed in this track too, making it a great romantic piece.

'Teri tamanna', with the duo of KK and Zubin Garg, is next on the list of 'worth-it' songs, though its popularity could be termed doubtful. It sounds nice with electric guitars strumming their way through the song, but there's something lacking that might prevent it from reaching the top.

Shilpa Rao and Mithoon once again make 'Woh ajnabee' worth a hear. Rao's sensual and seductive voice sounds amazing and makes the track enjoyable.

To end the album, Mithoon brings forward 'The Train (An Inspiration)'. The composer decides to go absolutely literal with the number, as throughout the song one gets to hear various sounds associated with the train. There's the chugging of the train, the cooing, and Qadri's lyrics too lend support. A job well done!

Mithoon is going to have his hands full after this album and, hopefully, the likes of Reshammiya will take a back seat. Not only does Mithoon prove his mettle as a composer, his voice makes a mark and will be noticed. Way to go Mithoon!

'Rang De Basanti' to be re-launched

UTV has ambitious plans up its sleeve. Besides spreading its wings in the international arena [co-producing THE NAMESAKE and planning international co-productions with Will Smith and M. Night Shyamalan], the corporate house is dubbing its 2006 hit RANG DE BASANTI in English.

In fact, UTV will re-launch RANG DE BASANTI as a crossover release in the international market. The original Hindi version was of 2.50 hours duration, while the international version will be of 2.10 hours duration -- 40 minutes shorter. Also, the title will be changed to COLOUR OF SACRIFICE.

The international version for global audiences will have a limited theatrical release in the next few months.

'Jayam' Ravi debuts in Telugu

'Jayam' Ravi and Vishaal are two young heroes in Tamil who are of Telugu origin. Almost all the hit films of the former were remakes of Telugu blockbusters, the most recent one being 'Nuvvustanante Nenodantana'.

For a long time, 'Jayam' Ravi and his family were planning to make a direct film in Telugu to establish his box office marketability here in Tollywood. Finally, time has come.

'Jayam' Ravi won Tamilnadu state government's Kalaimaamani award this year. Naturally, he is jubilant for having achieved such an honor so early in his career. Now comes his first film in Telugu. 'Aggiramudu' is the most likely name of the film. In all probabilities, his elder brother, Raja might direct this. Search is now on for a heroine.
Meanwhile, the actor is most likely to get married before the end of this year. His family ahs already started looking for a bride for him.

Rajamouli to direct Ramcharan Tej

Ram Charan Teja, son of Padma Bhushan, Mega Star, Dr Chiranjeevi, is presently busy with his debut film 'Chirutha' directed by versatile director Puri Jagannath and produced by C Aswinidutt on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies.

After completing his first film, he would play hero in a film to be produced by Allu Aravind on the banner of Gita Arts. According to sources in Film Nagar, Ram Charan Teja would work in the direction of SS Rajamouli, which would be his third project.

By that time, Rajamouli's home production 'Yamadonga' would also come to an end. This shows, how Ram Charan Teja is meticulously planning his career, with the first film from a versatile director like Puri Jagannath and third film with a dynamic director like Rajamouli, who did not face any kind of flops in his career.

Being the son of a Mega Star, there will be lots of expectations on him in the audiences in general and Mega Star and Power Star fans in particular.

It is not that easy to reach their expectations and hence these many precautions in choosing his directors. All the best Cherry!

Chirutha to go to Bangkok again

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja’s maiden film, Chirutha, is fast finishing its schedule. As its Hyderabad portion of shooting is nearing its completion, the team is gearing up for to leave for Bangkok again to shoot a major portion there.

Chirutha began its regular shoot in Thailand. Now the team is leaving for the same place to can important scenes over Ram Charan Teja and its heroine Neha Sharma.
Manisharma is composing music to the film. It is produced by Ashwini Dutt.

Shivaji postponed again

Director Shankar makes grandeur movies. He has highest success ratio in South India that is why every big time producer wants to make a film with him. But the producers who actually get the chance to produce movies with him feel otherwise. They always kept on blood pressure raising situations by delaying the film endlessly. This time the grand production house, AVM, is suffering. Shankar does it again with Shivaji. The film is again postponed.
It is not releasing on May 31st as it was announced earlier. It hits the screens on June 15th instead.
Remember Shankar’s last release Aparachitudu was also postponed several times.
The reason for delaying the film is cited as lack of sufficient publicity. Till now, no trailer for the film was released. It is height of maintaining secrecy. Nowhere in the world has it happened like this.

Athidhi 4th song shoot begins at RFC

New schedule of Mahesh Babu’s Athidhi has begun on Tuesday, May 22, 2007. A duet is being canned at a specially erected set at Ramoji Film City. Raju Sundaram who has choreographed all the three songs earlier is composing steps for this song too.

Directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Ramesh Babu on Krishna Productions Pvt Ltd, Athidhi is romantic action drama. Manisharma is scoring the music. Bollywood heroine Amritha Rao is making her Telugu debut in this film.

NTR and NTR together in Yamadonga

As Reported earlier NTR lent his voice for a song in YamaDonga. Here are few more snippets about that song and the film. This song is on NTR and Mamata Mohandas in the film. And in real, NTR and Mamata Mohandas gave their own voices for this song. Mamata Mohandas is already familiar to Telugu audience with her voice (she sang Rakhee.. Rakhee song in NTR's Rakhee). This song has 4 stanzas (2 charanalu 2 pallavulu) and is filmed in 4 sets. The song is completed recently at Padmalaya studios.

• Confrontation scene between Yamudu (Mohanbabu) and NTR. This scene is supposed to be another highlight in which NTR will say a lengthy dialog that will leave the audience stunned.
• Also, some extraordinary graphics were added to this film. As sources say, NTR will be on screen with legendary NTR in graphics. Earlier similar graphics were used to show legendary NTR in the film Kalisundaam Raa. It is of no doubt that fans will go crazy with this type of highlights in the film.

SS Rajamouli is the director. MM Keeravani is the music director. Mohan Babu is playing the role of Yama dharmaraju while Rajeev Kanakala plays Indra.

Raju Bhai Review

After a successful Satyam, a disastrous Dhana 51 and a damp Brahmastram, director Sooriya Kiran is back with Raju Bhai. Starring Manchu Manoj Kumar, it is his third movie after Donga Dongadi and Sree. The actor has now lost oodles of weight and is looking much better than he did in his debut. Raju Bhai is no great shakes, but it definitely beats the heat. The flip side is it's again 'the same old, the same old'.

Plot: Babaji (Dhandayudhapani) is the local Don types. Raju is jobless till he saves Babaji's son Vasanth from some rival parties. Raju gets into Babaji's gang, doing jobs for him that take muscle power. He meets Anjali (Shiela), (who has only her father-Tanikella Bharani) who he fights with, but obviously falls for later. She tries to convert him to be decent and leave the rowdy gang. But in a police raid in an unrespectable area, Raju is caught. Anjali breaks up with him, but there is more truth than that meets the eye. Raju's sacrifice and whether he wins her love back is the rest of the plot.

Hightlights:Music and Dance are feather in the cap for this movie.

Last Word It's an average entertainer, with the hero being made into a 'tough guy-turns into sacrificial goat'. Nothing we haven't seen before. Raju Bhai has some sentiment, some comedy, a few good songs, a good lead pair and regular fight sequences. That sounds good, but for almost 3 hours, there has to be more substance. Otherwise, its again regular fare. Been there, seen that.

Prince kosam Peter vesina master plan

Peter Heins made a story, then narrated to Mahesh Babu. Mahesh liked it but there was a small..oops big hitch. The problem was that if Mahesh were to do this film, he would have had to undergo martial arts training for six months in Vietnam and the whole film would be shot in Vietnam and surrounding forests. Inko problem undhi aagandi. The budget would be thirty crores and the actor told him to cut it down to twenty as the producer wouldn’t gain. Also the working period of the movie would be for 200 days in which the action sequences would be for 80 days.

Generally for a movie a team works for twenty days in a month, so for 200 days they would have to shoot for 10 months and the post-production would come upto one year and the training part would take not less than 8 to 9 months..meaning a total of two years would go into that movie. This incident happened during Pokiri release and if Mahesh Babu would have done this film, aayana fans mind block ayyedhi and we wouldn’t get to watch a Mahesh Babu film for two years.

NTR turns Singer

NTR has already surprised everyone by shedding his weight. He is now slimmer and looks very handsome. Now, he springs another surprise. NTR has sung a song for the first time. He lent his voice for Yamadonga and crooned super hit song, "O Lammi Tikka Reginda ... " from Yamagola. Music Diector M M Keeravani remixes the song for Yamadonga. A month ago, it had been recorded.

The newer version, of "O Lammi Tikkaregindi..", is sung by NTR and heroine Mamata Mohandas and it features both of them in it. Mamata has already sung for Rakhi.

Those who have heard NTR’s voice are raving him. “He crooned like a professional singer. Perhaps this is the first time that a song is shot on the lead pair that is originally sung by themselves,” a unit member said.

In the early stages of filmmaking, actors used to sing songs for themselves. But after playback system is introduced actors stopped singing. So Rajamouli brings in that magic again.

Yamadonga is the hottest project in Tollywood now. It is also being made in gigantic manner. It stars NTR, Mamata Mohandas, Priyamani and Mohan Babu in the lead roles. The film is slated for July release and is produced by Cherry and Urmila Gangaraju on Viswamithra Creations banner.

Mahesh Babu to endorse Hero Honda

This is the hottest buzz in the Film Nagar,Mahesh babu is soon endorsing World's Largest Two Wheeler Company Hero Honda,The deal is already done...as per the sources. Let's wait &see !

Ram in YVS 's Rey

Director and producer YVS Chowdhary is planning another film with Ram. Last year, he introduced Ram with Devadasu and it turned out to be a blockbuster. Presently, YVS is making Okka Magadu with Balakrishna. Soon after this, he is planning another love story with Ram. It is likely to be titled ‘Rey’ - short form of ‘Orey’.

This title is chosen because YVS feels a song in Okka Magadu, which goes with ‘Rey’, will become very popular as it was happened with ‘Okka Magadu’ song in Seetaiah.

Can Prabhas wait too long?

It is observed that the current movie moghuls of Telugu industry Dil Raju and MS Raju had continuous hits with Dil, Arya, Bhadra, Bommarillu, Manasantha Nuvve, Okkadu, Nee Sneham, Varsham, NVNV. Both of them gave a disaster after the success streak with Munna and Pournami and the common factor for both these films is ‘young rebel star’ Prabhas.

Coming to Prabhas, he is on a holiday for two months and he is planning to do his next film only in October with Puri Jagannath but Film Nagar people don’t think so as Pawan Kalyan is very interested to work with Puri Jagannath and also it is said that Jagan has a script for PK and also registered a title Kantree. If this combination materialises, Jagan will have the credit of continuously worked in three films with members of Chiru family.

I can’t do comedy anymore: Venky

It was pleasant to watch Venky being forthright and spontaneous in the programme on NDTV. Some of the answers were like this, on heroines who suited him more, “Divya Bharti though I had done one film (Bobbili Raja) with her, Soundarya and Sridevi, Trisha recently from AMAV.”

When asked about his father’s stint in politics, “I’m in no position to advise anyone, each one should make their own decisions, politics though is not my cup of tea. Yes, he did wonders for his constituency when he was there and for his age, and he being a clean and honest man, things worked out fine. But he is different and I’m different.”

He adds, “I used to watch him since I was a kid, so I see myself more as a producer or a production manager. Acting was just incidental. Direction is too much of a burden for me. I’m close enough with all my technicians and directors and I sometimes give them suggestions, they are happy to take it.”

When asked about the third generation of actors coming into the industry from his family he talks of Arjun his son. “He already has fans associations, they keep writing letters to him. I don’t mind he becoming an actor but he should first go through the regular grinding of education.”

“Two years down the line I find myself doing a bilingual a Telugu-Tamil film, and later a Hindi movie perhaps, maybe some character role a tough cop from South getting into Mumbai or a lawyer, it should be a mature stuff. I can’t do entertainment and comedy, love stories any more, people won’t enjoy it.”

Power Star-Trivikram film in full swing

Devisri Prasad has already composed three rocking tunes on par with Pawan Kalyan’s standard and is finally eager to give the best output as it is his first film with PK. That leaves us with one question about Ramana Gogula. Once a regular with Kalyan’s movies this time he has been given some rest. Some of Pawan Kalyan’s films without Gogula are Kushi, Gudumba Shankar, Balu, Bangaram, current Kalyan film and after the not-so-impressive Annavaram audio Kalyan has preferred Devisri Prasad.

We all know Kalyan involves in all the departments and takes care of every minute detail, and after the completion of Annavaram he started giving time to the script session and after complete satisfaction he has now commenced the shooting.

Raviteja’s film with Vinayak confirmed

Ravi Teja has just okayed a project with VV Vinayak to be produced by Cable TV Kasi and this will be taken up immediately after Dubai Seenu. Trisha will be the female lead.

Earlier there was a news that Vinayak trying his hand in production with venkatesh. But as of now the idea is shelved and project with ravi teja is confirmed. Hope this movie will make Vinayak a good come back after a debacle Yogi.
