Salman Khan says no to leather jackets

/photo.cms?msid=3226567 One of the first contemporary stars to establish their own style statement, Salman Khan is rather known for his 'cool hunk' image. But when the producers of the television show 'Dus Ka Dum' decided to cash on it, Salman decided otherwise. The actor insisted on coming across as a gentleman not just with his polite behaviour but also with his dress code on the show.

According to designer Ashley Rebello who teamed up with Salman's sister Alvira to put together the actor's wardrobe, the producers wanted Salman to don leather jackets and jeans that would go in-sync with his hip and funky image. However, the actor refused to do so. In stead, he suggested that they go with a subtle wardrobe that would not intimidate any of the guests.

"It was Salman's idea that his usual 'casual' and 'cool' look be replaced by something more subtle yet stylish. That's how I came to design the smart semi-formals for his act on 'Dus Ka Dum'. In fact, Salman is someone who really likes solid colours and so when it came to choosing the colour palate, Alvira and I decided to stick with colours like black, blue and grey. And just to add that tinge of vibrancy which is second nature to Salman, we teamed them up with bright colours like pink, turquoise and greens."

Now with this revelation, it is quite clear that Sallu is one star who likes to keep it simple while trying to impress his audiences. And if the reviews of the show are anything to go by, seems like the actor has achieved what he really seeked to – the gentleman image, a people person image. After all, isn't everyone raving about Sallu's sensitivity for reality show participants?
