Rock On music Launch on July 7

The Rock On! music launch is taking place at Infiniti Mall, Versova on Monday, the 7th of July. The film is being promoted in quite an unconventional manner. The band Magik, which comprises of the cast of the film, will perform live across India.

Sources tell us TV Queen Ekta Kapoor will promote the movie too because it stars her discovery Prachi Desai.

Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy and Farhan Akhtar will perform live at the launch. "Farhan will sing a couple of songs from the songs from the movie. Then we will sing some songs from DCH, Don and Lakshya. We are doing this to give people a feel of the music of Rock On!" says Shankar of the cosmopolitan musical trio, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

He is all praise for Farhan's singing abilities. "Farhan is a wonderful singer. He was nervous because he hasn't sung before and we had to work on his confidence. He has an interesting, unique and husky which suits Hindi Rock perfectly. We did not want him to lip sync and there was no better choice than him to sing the songs because he is acting in the movie too."

Farhan Akhtar

Speaking about the album, Ehsaan Noorani says, "Rock On's album is really different from all the music we have composed earlier. It's the first time people will hear genuine Hindi Rock in a Bollywood film."

Ehsaan further adds, "There are 9 songs in the album and Farhan has sung four. All the tracks are original compositions, there are no cover versions. Other artistes on the album include Raman Mahadevan (of TZP fame), Caralisa (of KANK fame) and Dominique ( of Dhoom Again fame)."

Prach Desai in Rock On

So how are they preparing for the big day? "We are rehearsing with Farhan over the weekend. We are ready, the band is ready and Farhan is ready too. Prachi, Arjun, Luke, Shahana and Purab will sing in the chorus," informs Shankar.

Prachi Desai is extremely excited about the music release. "I have not been to a live rock concert before and this is my first concert for my first film. Shahana and I are going to be there to support the guys so we don't really have to prepare, though the boys are working very hard. I am really excited as this is Rock On's first public showcase. Along with interviews, we will do live shows across Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and other cities to take Rock On! to the masses and personally interact with them. I think it's a different and effective way of promoting the movie as so many people will get a feel of the movie."
