Rajinikanth may play Sage Thiruvalluvar

If Superstar Rajinikanth agrees to do the guest role in Christian moive on Saint Thomas, he will be offered to do the role of Sage Thiruvalluvar. The movie to be funded by the government of Canada, and the Vatican is expected to match Hollywood big-budget movies such as Ben Hur and the Ten Commandments in budget and quality. The film would initially be made in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi and later dubbed into various other languages, including English and French.

“Hollywood actor James Caviezel who played Jesus in Passion of the Christ may act in our film as Jesus. Some other Hollywood actor will play St. Thomas,” says Dr Paulraj Lourdusamy, chief researcher and script-writer of the film. “An important part of the film is St. Thomas’ meeting with sage poet Thiruvalluvar. We thought Rajinikanth would fit that role perfectly. We are trying to rope him in for the project” Paulraj adds.

The movie will also have guest roles played by Kamal, Ajith, Vijay and Vikram. This film is produced by the Catholic Archdiocese of Chennai and the film was launched by chief minister M. Karunanidhi on the feast of St Thomas at Saint Thomas Cathedral, Chennai.
