The uncrowned Kinng of Bollywood

He is clearly the man of the moment in Bollywood. Akshay Kumar, whose winning run at the box office started in 2007 is fast becoming a brand with an appeal that threatens to displace the Khan trio. Though the new year began with a turkey like Tashan the one star ratings the film managed were solely due to Kumar's portions in the film.

The box office king:

But Kumar's current status in the industry is too big to be affected by one Tashan. His next two releases Singh Is Kinng and Chandni Chowk To China Town are the most talked about projects in town. The films have been shot on a lavish scale and are setting new records in the distribution circles. He is also cleverly forming his own camp with low profile but hardcore commercial directors such as Vipul Shah, Anees Bazmee and Priyadarshan.
Mr diplomat:

Though Akshay Kumar's obvious rival is Shah Rukh Khan, he has always been very diplomatic in his conduct when talking about competition. Not wanting to displease anyone, Kumar also bailed out the Bachchans at the last minute when no other top star was willing to board The Unforgettable flight to North America and Europe.

Kumar, Kumar everywhere:

Off screen too Kumar is slowly making inroads into the Khan domain. He is already endorsing half a dozen products form soft drinks to suits. And just when SRK and Salman were making news by charging astronomical amounts for their game shows, Kumar gave the knock out punch by demanding a cool Rs 1.5 crore per episode for his reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi.

So wherever you go you cannot escape the Akshay Kumar impact. From hoardings to newspapers to radio stations to TV channels - You just cant ignore Bollywood's newest Kinng.
