Press meet - Kotha Bangaru Lokam

Shoot of Kotha Bangaru Lokam (KBL) is complete by 90% and the remaining too would be done with in a few days, said its producer Dil Raju today. The film unit today arranged a press meet at the scenic campus of Vignan junior college, Kondapur, Hyderabad. Made on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, the film will have its audio release in the first week of August, while the screen-hit is likely by the end of same month. Dil Raju, music director Mickey J. Mayer, director Srikanth, cinematographer Chota K. Naidu, hero Varun Sandesh, debut heroine Swetha Prasad and some of the vital crew members, students of the college (who played the real time roles in the film) were present.

Dil Raju said: “Actually, I heard the subject in 2004 from Srikanth. I instantly liked it and it became a hangover on me though I was busy with other films during these four years. I got the right opportunity to get into the project in October 2007 and launching the project in 2008. Almost all my films were basically story-based with high success rate. Similarly, this film is also story-based. To cut the ice, Kotha Bangaru Lokam is a cute cinema, with fresh and young artistes – all students of first or second year Intermediate students. You know about the prowess of Varun Sandesh with his energetic role in Happy Days. Now, heroine Swetha Prasad already proved her mettle as child artiste in Bollywood. The film is out and out odiferous with teenage flavor. Almost I was away from the sets 75% during all these days. But, the unit played a wonderful role and finished project with tremendous output. I am thankful to the parents of the students, who did roles in our film. Generally, there is prevalent a negative thinking about acting in films. I also thank the college management for permitting us to shoot in their premises. I thank Vasu Varma (debut director of forthcoming Nag Chaitanya’s film) for giving us the title Kotha Bangaru Lokam (originally held by him).”

Mickey J. Mayer said that the tunes which provided to the film were in fact close to his heart. He thanked Dil Raju for giving him an opportunity to work for a youthful film like KBL. “There are six songs in the film,” Mickey added.

The lead pair – Varun Sandesh and Swetha Prasad –said that they were lucky to be doing a lively film with the backdrop of college, that too surrounded by real students. They hoped that the film would sure entertain the youth audiences and college students in a big way.

The cast included: Brahmanandam, Ahuti Prasad, Rajitha, Vinay Prasad, Rao Ramesh, Phani, Gowtham Raju, Sushma, Praveen, Chinnikrishna & 30 debut artistes.

Crew: Lyrics – Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry, Anant Sriram, Srikanth Addala; choreography – Sobhi Paulraj, Pradeep Antony, Baba Bhaskar; Stunts – Sayeed; Editing – Marthand K. Venkatesh; Story, screenplay, dialogues and direction – Srikanth Addala.
