Mahesh Babu on a holyday after Athithi

Mahesh Babu is planning to spend his time with his family "(Namratha and son Gowtham) at least for 2 months. He is not going to put himself on shooting floors for the coming 2 months. It's a sort of summer vacations for him.

The severe heat is squeezing out everyone and no body is willing to come out of AC Rooms. So Mahesh also must be taking rest in that regard.

His next film will be 'Mirchi' of KL Narayana. Then he will act in MS Raju's 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' without any gap.

'Munna' with 270 prints

The Prabhas-Ileana starrer 'Munna' produced by Dil Raju on the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations and directed by debutant director Vamsy Paidipally had completed the censor formalities and bagged 'clean U/A' certificate.
The film is all set to hit the screen on May 2 with a massive 270 prints. For the first time, a film from Dil Raju's banner and that of Prabhas was released with such a massive number of prints.
It is learnt that Dil Raju had spent around Rs 15 crore for the film. There are lots of expectations on this film from Prabhas as 'Dil' Raju has a history of four successive hits on his banner.
Dil Raju says, 'In fact, we had okayed the subject even before the launch of my earlier film 'Bommarillu' and after the release of 'Bhadra'. Vamsy was with our banner for the past three years and I know him personally three years before that. After I okayed 'Bommarillu' script, Vamsy came to me and narrated the entire story for about three hours. I liked the way he would like to present a commercial point in a novel way. The speciality is that the heroine had a good scope for performance besides filling the glamour slot. Already the audio has become a big hit and the Supreme audio itself admitted it. However, a section of people from the industry are trying to spread a negative talk about the film. Probably they were feeling jealous due to my successive hits. Of course, we accept it as an adverse publicity for our film as we are confident that the film would earn a hit talk right from the morning show of the first day. After this film, I am planning a film with Allu Arjun under the direction of 'Bommarillu' Bhaskar and that film would go to sets from June. I am also planning to introduce two more new directors Vasu and Srikanth in my forthcoming films. I promise that the next film to be directed by Vamsy Paidipally would also be from our banner.'

'Dubai Seenu' completes shoot

The shooting of 'Dubai Seenu' directed by Sreenu Vaitla, presented by Bhagawan J and produced by Danaiah on the banner of Universal Media with Raviteja and Nayanatara in the lead was completed with the shooting in Dubai and its surrounding areas.
Noted artiste JD Chakravarthy would appear in a special and important role in the film.
Director Sreenu Vaitla says, 'The film 'Venky' which came in my combination with Raviteja was a blockbuster. We are making a similar film with complete Raviteja mark comedy once again. We did never compromise at any point in giving a quality output. Our heroine Nayanatara also had a lot of scope to perform instead of formal filling of glamour slot. It is the performance of Raviteja and Nayanatara which would be a big asset for the film. Manisharma scored very good music for the movie. The producers also extended good cooperation all through the shooting. I am confident that this film would be a definite hit movie in my career.'
Producers say, 'After 'Desamuduru', which was a blockbuster this year, this film is coming out on our banner. We are planning to launch the audio in the first week of May and release the film in the last week of May.'

'Chirutha' completes 30 per cent shoot

Over 30 per cent talkie part of a film being directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by C Aswinidutton the banner of Vyjayanti Movies introducing Ram Charan Teja, son of Padma Bhushan, Mega Star, Dr Chiranjeevi, as hero and Mumbai model Neha as heroine, was completed recently with the shooting in Bangkok and Thailand and its surrounding areas.
It is reliably learnt that 'Chirutha' was the title confirmed for the movie. It may be mentioned here that Chiranjeevi is ruling the hearts and souls of the Telugu audiences for the past 25 years and reached the highest peak in the Telugu film industry.
Ram Charan Teja, who is joining the films to continue the legacy of his father would also reach one such highest place and there were lots of expectations on the success of the film among the industry circles as well as the audiences in general and the Mega Star fans in particular.
Puri Jagannath says, 'There were compliments that Ram Charan Teja was looking handsome after watching the photographs published in some film magazines. But he would appear more handsome in our film.'
Manisharma gave melodious tunes to all the songs in the film.
The film is slated for release on August 22, the birthday of Mega Star Chiranjeevi and the director and producer were making efforts to complete all the formalities by that time.

Will there be a sequel to 'Pokiri'?

A trend of sequels is hitting the film industry in Bollywood. 'Don, Dhoom, Krishh and Lage Raho Munnabhai' — all these came as sequels are were proved big hits. In Telugu also, 'Shankar Dada Zindabad' is coming out as a sequel to 'Shankar Dada MBBS'.

Now, it is reliably learnt that noted director cum producer EVV Satyanarayana is planning to do some sequels. 'Pokiri' which rewrote the 75-year-old Telugu film history in collections had created a history by screening for 365 days in a centre (175 days in one theatre and another 189 days in another theatre based on shift system).

Speaking on the occasion, Puri Jagannath says, 'We are planning another film with Maheshbabu as hero in 2008 on Vaishno Academy banner. However, we are yet to rethink whether we should do a separate subject or bring out a sequel to 'Pokiri'. Screening of a film for 365 days in a centre after a long gap of 27 years is quite a memorable incident. We are very happy at the tremendous success of this movie.'

However, the dilemma is still persists whether Puri Jagannath had an idea to do a sequel to 'Pokiri' or not.
